From the viral #DontRushChallenge in all its variations, to the #21Beats4Kay hashtag that's seen plenty of pristine made up faces grace our Twitter feeds since the national lockdown started, it's evident that the beauty community has not put their makeup brushes down despite being at home.

Whether it's the fact that you now have more time on your skilled hands or that being away from distractions has triggered a surge of creativity, it's a welcome kind of garnish to an otherwise daily diet of somber coronavirus news-filled social media platforms.

And while we're all hopefully still taking care of our skin, it's also not a bad idea to join the indoor festivities and play with makeup every now and then.

Yep, you're about to put the FAB Method (article above) into practice if you haven't already. But first, clean your canvas before painting on it...

Step 1 - Exfoliate your skin

Cleanse and exfoliate your skin with a facial scrub, then use a toner, and moisturiser with products that are suitable for your skin type and needs. Avoid using products that will make you too matte, as you’re trying to create a glow. You need products that will hydrate your skin, leaving it with a bit of shine.

Product to consider:  L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Energizing cream.

Step 2 – Apply foundation and Highlighter

Pump out a good coverage liquid foundation on your palm or a small container lid, then add an equal or lesser amount of highlighter onto the foundation then mix both products, and apply with a foundation brush or sponge. Don’t use a powder highlighter as it won’t give you the dewy skin look. Only liquid or creamy highlighter will work for this look.

Step 3 – Brows and lashes

Is it even a makeup look without the perfect brows and lashes? Just don’t overdo them as this look is more natural. You can use an eyebrow pencil or a tint to fill your eyebrows. Here are links for a tutorial to on the perfect brows with a tint and a pencil. Mascara will help with making your eyes look brighter, and lashes fuller. The best mascaras are those that volumise eyelashes, especially if you have short lashes.

Products to consider: L'Oréal Brow Artist Xpert pencil  and Maybelline Brow Tattoo Peel Off Tint

Step 4 – Extra glow and your choice of lip colour

Finally, apply a little bit of the highlighter over your cheekbones for a stronger impact of glowing skin. Then complete your look with glossy or creamy lipstick, whether you want to go nude or bright, it’s all up to you.
