I think by now we all know the best skincare routine is money - not water, not sunscreen, not fruit and not a homemade turmeric mask. In the same breath, it would be irresponsible to tell anyone to quit their current affordable and trusted skincare program to splurge on a 10-product skincare routine instead.
It is tempting, though, isn't it? I mean, if you invest in one high-end product a month, you might be well on your way to celebrity skin.
And an A-lister who has many-a-fan forking out big bucks to look like her, is reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
The KKW Beauty founder got us all eager to dabble in the vampire facial, she got others opting for nude makeup over bright hues of eyeshadow and lipstick, while others stopped smiling to slow down premature ageing, and some have gone as far as going for cosmetic procedures to emulate Kim K's features.
She didn't win that 2018 CFDA Influencer Award for nothing, after all.
And one of her latest reveals about the contents of her bathroom cabinet are bound to influence many to go the extra mile with their skincare routine, and those Dis-Chem and Clicks receipts are about get longer.
In a post on her website, Kim gave fans a virtual peak inside her beauty cabinet, where she said "I love to try out new beauty and skincare products, but there are some that I’ll just never give up," referring to the multiple products she uses to achieve and maintain enviable skin.
It should come as no surprise that any Kardashian invests in their image, as People also reminds us that the busy mom and beauty mogul "still manages to carve out time for 10pm facials with Melissa Haloossim at Skin Thesis, undergo painful beauty treatments like the vampire facial and [used to] sit through 13-hour bleaching sessions while she was platinum blonde to touch up her roots."
So of course, she doesn't skimp on her daily skincare routine that consists of 17 essential products, adding up to a total cost of over $4 500 (about R64.5K).
And yes, she's a serious serum collector, especially those containing hyaluronic acid.
These are the products behind Kim K's selfie-ready skin:
