Meet the woman who inspires people to rock their unibrows

Women have always been told to wax, tweeze or thread their bushy eyebrows but one social media model has decided to challenge the norm by rocking her monobrow with pride.

Sophia Hadjipanteli is the modern-day ambassador for the #UnibrowMovement, mostly because of her own beautiful, thick brows.

Her dark, full eyebrows have raked up more than 58 000 followers on Instagram. 

Several of her followers think she has eyebrows to die for and others, well, not so much. But whether they like it or not, this look is definitely in full force.

After constantly trying to fill in her eyebrows, Sophia grew tired and decided to tint them darker and ended up with pitch-black brows.

But the 21-year-old totally loved the look, and now tints it black whenever her blonde hairs start to peep through.

High maintenance, you might think? Well, it’s actually not – all the marketing student does is coat her eyebrows with some castor oil every night before bedtime.

The Cyprian model says that she’s not telling everyone to copy her monobrow but rather encouraging people to embrace their unibrow that was once made famous by the renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. 

“Others disagree, and that’s totally cool. I’m not trying to get anyone on the unibrow bandwagon,” Sophia told Harper’s Bazaar.

Sophia credits her amazing eyebrows to her mother – who’d taught her from a young age about the importance of grooming them.

The 20-year-old says she won’t think of removing her unibrow until people accept others for their unique facial features. 

“Until people start to accept others for this specific feature on their face, I won’t feel ready to move on from it,” she says.
