Strobing is in, contouring is out!

accreditation
A new makeup trend has taken the beauty world by storm. It’s called strobing. This new trend promises to make you look more youthful by simply applying your makeup to certain areas of your face.

Celebrities have absolutely adored this new trend, with stars like Miranda Kerr, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez and queen of contouring, Kim Kardashian giving it a go.

What’s great about strobing is that it’s less time-intensive, which is great when you’re on the go. It’s also amazing for those with problem skin, as strobing is a great way to mute those imperfections we often struggle to hide.

What is strobing?

Strobing is highlighting and is actually very similar to contouring. However, the difference is that strobing moistens the skin, creating a luminous and fresh glow which tends to involve more cream-based products. The outcome gives the illusion of high cheekbones, strong features and a glowing finish that makes your skin look radiant and beautiful.

How does it work in practice?

Strobing involves the highlighting of certain parts of the face, especially where the light should reflect on and off the skin. Apply anywhere you want the light to hit, such as your cheekbones, down the nose, above the brow, Cupid’s bow and below the lip.

The key is to blend well and to match your foundation so that you don’t have to overdo it with extra products. The effect is supposed to be subtle.

Happy strobing!
