I recently tried the Avon Color Trend Coloured Mascara and Avon True Colour Eye shadow Duo, and have mixed emotions.
When it came to the mascara, I wasn't that impressed. The good news, however, is that the eyeshadow is amazing.
I excitedly tried the Violet Sizzle Mascara because firstly I love purple and secondly because I’d been searching everywhere for a purple mascara ever since the day I tried my friend’s and I attempted “borrow” it... but she was on to me!
I generally don’t wear bright flamboyant colours but I really like the look purple or blue mascaras give.
So, on the day I received the mascara I happily put some on as I was attending a party with some friends that night.
Unfortunately I had to apply the coloured mascara at least four times - on each eye! It was a bit clumpy, and didn't give me the pop of colour that I so desperately wanted.
As the night progressed the mascara flaked quite a bit and eventually I had to resort to my old trusted black mascara.
If you're a fan of the coloured mascara look but don’t want to overdo it, then this product is perfect for you.
My suggestion: Put some of your normal volumizing mascara on first then slap on some of the Color Trend Coloured Mascara. In this way you'll have the volume you want, and just the right amount of colour to make your eyes stand out.
Price: R69.95
On a brighter note though, I also tried the Avon True Colour Eye shadow Duo and I loved it.
I am not a big fan of eye shadow but I love the Avon true Colour. I used the crushed orchid colour.
I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to applying eye shadow so the first time I tried it I looked like I’d been beaten up and sustained two blue eyes from the altercation!
I washed my face and tried again. And lo and behold, I actually looked great!
It has a nice shimmer, and applies smoothly and evenly. I'm happy to say that I'll definitely be using this product again.
