How to do your makeup in 2 minutes or less

accreditation

Scenario: you are up all night tossing and turning, worried about your ridiculous lack of self-discipline (“why did I not go to gym?!”) or maybe you are just overworked and underpaid, growing increasingly disgruntled with your one colleague who insists on telling you about her luxurious yachting weekends away when all you can afford lately in terms of relaxation is a walk by the beach.

So, you get up and feel/look a bit rough. You gulp down some coffee, inhale some brekkie, simultaneously dreading your lack of wardrobe choices for the day (all black again?) and the last thing you feel like doing is the whole primer, foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, contouring shebang.

Then don't.

Simply do this: the 2-minute makeup look that is fresh, and yes, good enough for today.

You will need:

•    A lightweight foundation - use Bourjois Air Mat Foundations, R265.95

OR the divine smelling Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation (launching 17 February), R785. Rub a pea-sized amount between your hands and simply apply this like you would moisturiser.

•    A highlighter - use The Body Shop Brush On Radiance, R250

MAC Strobe Cream, R410. Apply powders using a fluffly blush brush or use your fingers for creams;  apply to the bridge of your nose, on your cheekbones, onto your brow bone, on top of your cupid's bow and over the centre of your forehead.  Use your finger to add a touch of shimmer to the corners of your eyes.

•    A killer mascara –use GOSH Boombastic XXL Swirl Volume Mascara with Argan Oil, R145.  Two strokes and you’re done.

•    Eyebrow comb – often underestimated, yet combing those brows up can make a hell of a difference.

•    A lip tint or gloss – use Benefit Benetint, R385, a luxe rose-tinted cheek and lip stain that will give your lips a lush touch of colour. Add some to your cheeks for a bit of extra pick-me-up colour and blend in with your fingers. A gloss can also add a lovely touch of colour.

So now we're just wondering... Was that even 2 minutes?
