In 2016, we had very little hope. Then, the SONAs happened. It still didn't give us much hope. But, the dress that Thuli Madonsela wore was like the sun. Bright, comforting, celebratory (depending if you're a winter or summer person, I suppose) and, above all, beautiful.

Created by South African designer, Gert-Johan Coetzee, the dress captured the attention of a nation, so deeply entrenched in frustrated anger at the time, as Thuli was, for many, the glimmer of hope, the woman, the one who represented some good during the previous presidency.

The former Public Protector Advocate recently broke the news of engagement on SABC’s Real Talk show with Azania Mosaka.

Unfortunately, other than the actual announcement, Thuli is keeping mum about the rest of the details, like the groom, setting a date and whatever else, says The Times.

So, do we see Thuli in another Gert-Johan Coetzee creation for the wedding day? He has designed so many other high profile wedding dresses, like the one for Minnie Dlamini.

But what would Thuli choose in terms of cut, style and vibe?

She does ruffles very well...

She is mad for accessories, especially necklaces, sometimes beads, and often pearls...

Her coat game is strong...

A child (Thuli's wedding dress) needs to be born out of these two Elie Saab gowns.

A) Is it a coat, is it a dress?

B) The top, so shiny, so lacy, so many ruffles.

We can't wait to see her wedding photos now.
