This young couple had around 15 000 people show up at their wedding after their big day was advertised on Facebook.

Maricela Reyes Gerónimo and Felix Hernandez Morales tied the knot in Ocotepec in Veracruz, Mexico, and after news that popular local band Los Acosta were going to play a concert at the reception was widely circulated on social media 15 000 people came to share in their special day.

According to local media, residents initially thought the Facebook post – shared by netizen Mi Hermoso Jalacingo – was a hoax, but when Los Acosta confirmed their participation, the invitation spread like wildfire.

“We want to invite you to Felix Hernandez Morales and Maricela Reyes Gerónimo’s wedding reception in Ocotepec in Veracruz where we will play all our hits,” the local band said.

On the day of the wedding, Mi Hermoso Jalacingo posted details of the preparations with pictures of the cake and buffet.

The bride wore a traditional white gown while the groom donned a striking white jacket and black pants.
