Having a wedding means you get one day where everything should go your way. But what happens when what you want doesn't include the people who are important to your partner?

This Reddit bride cancelled her wedding because of the best man’s height and a few features she was sure would ruin her wedding pictures.

Taking to Facebook, this anonymous bride expressed her frustrations about the best man who has to walk her sister, the maid of honour, down the aisle.

“I'm getting married next Saturday. All of my bridesmaids are gorgeous and honestly I can't imagine having better looking friends. My issue is my fiancé’s best man. He's only 5ft 3' (1,6m) tall so he will look ridiculous escorting my sister down the aisle,” the bride complained.

She has other reservations about how her would-be-husband's best friend looks. “He is homely as well. A unibrow and crooked teeth. One of those really big smiles that shows his teeth and 10ft of gum too,” she adds.

The bride communicated her concerns to her husband-to-be, however, the response was not what she anticipated.

“I asked my future husband if he (the best man) could be at the end of the line of men in all pictures and during the ceremony, that way he can be cropped out or avoided in photos,” she wrote.

However, the groom refused as the best man had spent over $10 000 (R148.00) on his bachelor weekend.

But the bride was still having none of it and adds, “I don't particularly care and if he decides that his gift depends on his placement in the wedding party. I don't think he's a good friend anyway. I'm crying and so upset that my fiancé said he wouldn't move him... I'm so insanely upset and told him I'm calling off the wedding."

The bride made it clear that her venting on Facebook was a cry for support from fellow women who know how stressful it is to pull off a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing wedding day.

Reddit users expressed their disappointment at the bride-to-be, with one user saying, “When your spouse is that focused on looks, every scar you get, no matter how small, has the potential of breaking you up. Better to avoid this train wreck of a human from the outset."

Another user added, "I just don't know if I can be married to someone who won't support my decisions... Like how you won't support your future husband’s decision of who he wants his best man to be???? It's his wedding too??” (sic).
