Bridal parties are usually made up of friends, cousins, sisters and anyone who you deeply care for. This would mean that you take everyone’s weight, feelings and postures to account.

However, this anonymous bride took to Facebook to ask for advice about how to include her size 48 bridesmaid after she chose a bridesmaid dress that is only manufactured up to size 38.

Being torn between spending extra money on her unique bridesmaid dress or simply having three bridesmaids instead of four, the bride wrote, “So I have four girls who are my closest friends, I'm thinking about having them as my bridesmaids, they're all lovely girls and I don't want to feel like an as****** [profanity] but one of the girls is a size 48.”

Choosing your wedding gown takes a lot of effort and choosing your bridesmaids dresses is even more of an effort, as you need to ensure everyone is accommodated, hence we have shows like Say Yes to the Dress to assist.

With that said, this bridesmaid in particular will not be included in the bridal party, unless she spends extra money to have the seamstress design a dress specifically for her.

The bride then considered buying two or three dresses then sending them to a dressmaker to be undone and sawn together into one dress for the plus-size bridesmaid.

However, this option amounts to another challenge.

“I've sent a link to the dressmaker and she said there is no way she would be able to make the dress the same and she definitely needs a few of them [dresses],” wrote the bride.

Facebook users took no time slamming the bride for making this a bigger deal than what it is, with one user saying, “This is just a 'shady' way of ditching her friend as a bridesmaid.”

Another user added, “What would I do? Pick a different dress that all the girls love. Why is it that hard?”
