The couple met at church many years ago. Racheal explained that when she met her now husband, he was still married and she had just divorced her late ex-husband.
“My husband was still married when we met, and I had just divorced my late ex-husband. He was still married and that is one of the reasons it was so difficult for us to get married because his ex-wife went missing for a long time and we couldn’t get hold of her to process the divorce. Another reason was that we needed financial assistance,” she explained.
The 59-year-old woman shared that they don’t have any children together.
Mr De Beers and I do not have children together but we both have kids from our previous marriages. We tried to have a baby, but I had a miscarriage at eight months,” she said.
“We went to the Goodwood Magistrate court to sort out some family stuff, the person who was helping us to noticed that my husband and I had been staying together for 25 years and our marriage status showed single, the clerk was shocked and asked what was the reason that we were not married after so many years,” she explained,
The magistrate clerk arranged for them to get married, the clerk then asked her colleagues and they together agreed to assist the couple.
Weeks later they organized a magistrate to officiate the ceremony, they decorated their offices, got refreshments and assisted where they could.
“I am very thankful to the lady and the Goodwood court that has helped me to get married to the man I love.”
