Fire captain, Pei Jucai and his bride decided to have their wedding photos taken at his workplace, Yinhe fire station, in Beijing, China. The groom was off-duty. However, his instincts were on high alert as required by his job.

While Pei and his fiancee were holding hands and posing for their photos, a fire alarm went off, and Pei suddenly turned and ran off in an automatic response to the signal.
The bride was left stunned and standing by herself in her white wedding gown as their photographer looked equally perplexed.

"When the alarm went, my instinctive reaction was to run towards the garage [at the fire station]," the groom says, explaining that when he got to his post, he started putting on his uniform to go on the rescue.
"I had already put on my uniform when someone announced over the PA that it was a fire drill. I totally forgot about my fiancee," he says.
When he realised his mistake and got back to the wedding photoshoot, the bride "looked very relieved."

"She worries every time I'm dispatched on duty. But my wife didn't say anything. We've been together for two and a half years, so she's very understanding of me and what I have to do. I've been a fireman for nine years. I'm conditioned to react this way," says the groom.
In China, wedding photoshoots take place before the ceremony. The couple planned to get married later officially.
