Bridezilla's are an endless source of fascination.
Bridezilla's are an endless source of fascination.

Brides  - or "bridezillas" as we've come to affectionately know them - tend to be a bit dramatic, pedantic or just down right unreasonable all in the name of the perfect wedding.

While their behaviour comes across as overly dramatic to a lot of us, we love that they keep giving us something to either think or laugh about.

In this week's edition of bizarre bride stories, we have not one, but three brides that had us both talking and laughing.

The sneaky bride

Let's be honest, conning your bridesmaids out of cash for you to contribute to your wedding dress is a little more than sneaky, but let's be nice.

According to Honey, this bride and her maid of honour were caught by one of the bridesmaids trying to charge all the bridesmaids a whole $200 (about R2800) extra for their dress.

And how exactly did she find out?

According to the disgruntled bridesmaid who took to Reddit to complain about this ghastly bride, the maid of honour/partner in crime, had offered to pay for all the dresses with her credit card in order to increase her air miles - something that all of them were comfortable with, although they had reservations about the pricey dress ($400 or R5660) the bride had chosen for them.

While picking up the dress after her fitting, the bridesmaid was about to leave the dress store, but not before having a little misunderstanding with one of the sales assistants who had thought she was trying to leave without paying.

"That will be $200" she called after her.

The bridesmaid instantly knew what the misunderstanding was about and quickly cleared it up with the assistant, but not before realising that she had said the dress actually cost $200 and not $400 which the bride and maid of honour was charging her and the rest of the bridesmaids.

Naturally, she told the other bridesmaids who all subsequently opted out of the wedding, leaving this bridezilla and her maid of horror - I mean honour - left with some last minute bridal party finding to do.

And it serves them right, don't you agree?

The "no tattoos, please" bride

This bride became the talk of the town after she had requested her guests cover their body ink because she was afraid that it might "clash" with the theme of the wedding which she had "put so much work" into.

And that was not her only request.

According to Indy, she had also sent one of her guests a text asking her to change the colour of her hair because she thought the colour of the guests hair wouldn't be fitting for her wedding.

“Hey so with my wedding, I wanted to ask if you could please make sure your tattoos are covered & could you maybe fix your hair up so it’s a natural cover? We’ve put a lot of work into our theme and I’m sorry but your look clashes with it.

"Even if you just put some spray or something on your hair for the night. [sic],” read the text.

The annoyed guest posted screenshots of the bride's unreasonable (but not entirely) texts online which were met with a lot of comments from disapproving internet users ,who encouraged the guest not to go.

And then lastly we had...

The super bride-to-be

This bride-to-be story is a little - well, a lot more - heartwarming.

According to BBC News, the 21-year-old bride-to-be in question was on her way home with her maid of honour after celebrating her hen party or bachelorette as we call it, when she was met with the smoke alarm of an elderly man's flat.

Still wearing er veil, she sprung into action, ran into the fiery building and dragged the man to safety.

She and her maid of honour are now being hailed heroes by hundreds of social media users who are in awe of their bravado. Reports also revealed that the trio all escaped the incident safely though they did suffer from some smoke inhalation.

Shout out to this future bride for giving us something to smile instead of gasp about.
