Marriage is and will always be something that most people want, and when someone finds the person (or thing) that they want to spend the rest of their life with, who can judge them?

And today we're focusing on the people who didn't marry unlikely partners, but rather unlikely things - some of which include ghosts, robots, and even themselves.

We know, right.

Here, we have a list of five of the most weird and wonderful things people have married over the past few years:

Jodi said "I do" to a bridge in France

Jodi Rose married a bridge in France after she had what she describes as a "love at first sight" encounter. According to Briefly, her wedding was attended by 14 guests who watched on as she said her vows to her... Bridge Charming.

A woman's best friend is indeed her dog

Independent reported that a 43-year-old woman has been married to her pet dog for 10 years. While people have been known to have what can be considered more than unhealthy attachments to their pets, she definitely proved there's no such thing. 

Who's better in bed than your duvet?

The answer is nothing and no one.

Earlier this year we published the story about Pascale Sellick, a London woman who had been planning a wedding for herself and her duvet who she says has given her the most "reliable and intimate" relationship ever.

To be honest, we can totally relate.

Our love is solid as a rock

Marry a rock? Why not. Tracy Emin did it. And who doesn't want a partner who's as steady as a rock - or actually just a literal rock. In an interview with Post magazine, Tracy described the rock as her "anchor and something she can identify with".

Okay, this was a man, but we still love the sentiment behind this.

According to Lolwot, activist, author, comedian and professor of psychology, Kevin Nadal married himself in an attempt to raise awareness against stigma's about people who are single.
