An anonymous bride recently took to a vegan Facebook page to explain her wedding plans, News.com.au reports.

“When your ‘family’ tries to guilt trip you into letting them come to your fully vegan wedding, even though they’re omnivores,” the bride-to-be wrote on the group.

“Just for some context, some family members were told they’re not invited to my wedding because we don’t want to host murderers.

“Our wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives.”

Despite the woman’s message being shared by vegans on social media, the bride received some backlash, Metro reports.

“As a vegan, this is messed up, you can’t go around calling your family murderers!” one person wrote.

“As a vegan, wouldn’t this be a prime opportunity to prove that vegan food can be just as delicious as omnivore food anyway?” another person wrote.

Many users called her decision unreasonable, saying meat-eaters would enjoy the vegan delicacies, The Sun reports.

“My cousin had a perfectly delicious vegan buffet at her wedding and all the carnivores had a great time.” someone else wrote.

In response to the negative comments, the bride added more details about how her vegan lifestyle has caused issues in her family.

“They’ve consistently attacked me and my partner just for being vegan.

“When I broke the news to them, all I got was attacked because I don’t want the weight of having people that still kill animals (the very beings we’re trying to protect) at my wedding on my conscience.

“I’m sorry if that makes me ‘rude’ or a ‘b****’ because I’m not compromising the ethics that I share with everyone here,” she wrote.

The bride has since deleted her post.
