If you've ever been married, you'd agree that a creative proposal is an excellent foundation to start wedding preparations.

And it is the one opportunity that your partner has to prove just how happy they intend to make in the marriage. It only makes sense then, that the more memorable the proposal, the more significant the chance of getting a "yes" once you're on your knees.

Ethan Studenic knows this. So, when popped the question to 28-year-old Morgan Whittaker, he did not play it safe and went for the most romantic idea he could come up with.

He proposed underwater with an engagement ring concealed inside a shell. The shell featured sea glass that Ethan found on the beach on the island.

The 30-year-old from Virginia, U.S., planned the scuba diving proposal for five years. Morgan says, "Ethan introduced me to scuba diving, and it is one of the things we love most in the whole world, so it was wonderful to have the proposal in that setting."

The couple plans to tie the knot in April in front of 100 family members and friends.
