The time of year celebrities get to play the ultimate in dress-up. (So jealous)
This year's theme was 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' to celebrate the masterworks of religious art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City's holdings, according to Vogue.
Here are all our favourite looks from last night's red carpet:

Diane Kruger in Prabal Gurung
Absolutely incredible. Her dress is by far my favourite, the colour and the exquisite ruffles are just on point.
Rita Ora in Prada
Keeping in trend with everyone else who showed up with massive trains, we also love Rita's spikey headpiece.
Nicki Minaj in Oscar de la Renta
Red. Hot. Fire.
Solange in Iris van Herpen
She asked Twitter what to wear, and this was the final result. As I live and breathe, she can wear a garbage bag and look like a haute couture goddess.
Amal Clooney in Richard Quinn
Not one of my favourites but Amal (obviously) pulls it off.
Bella Hadid in Chrome Hearts Official
Guuurl. Bella's gown encapsulated the good vs. evil, light vs. dark theme of the night.
Rihanna in Maison Margiela by John Galliano
Never one to shy away from attention, RiRi kept it cool in what looks like an incredibly heavy jewel-encrusted Pope gown. Too risque? Especially as it's Pope-inspired?
Blake Lively in Versace
Her dress took 600 hours to make. We think it was worth it. Yaaaas girl.
Migos in Versace
Best suits of the night for sure.
Madonna in Jean Paul Gaultier
I kind of feel like Madonna looks exactly the same every year, but hey, she's Madonna.
Kate Bosworth in Oscar de la Renta
She looks sweeter than a ball of candy floss wrapped in caramel.
Zoë Kravitz in Saint Laurent
Definitely sexiest of the night, Zoë kept it super elegant as always in this lace number.
Frances McDormand in Valentino
Kween.
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton
This looks very Audrey Hepburn goes to church. Love.
Kerry Washington in Ralph Lauren
Exquisite. Kerry is nothing short of stunning in the metal gown.
JLo in Balmain
Perfect for the theme, Lopez kept it very in tune with her style with the super high slit.
Kendall, Kim and Kylie
All kept it pretty simple in slick silhouettes.
Yara Shahidi in Chanel
Tinker Bell IRL.
Cindy Crawford in Versace
She was made for this skin-tight red dress.
Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk
A rare red carpet appearance for the couple, they looked golden.
Sarah Jessica Parker
She wore a gold nativity scene on her head. Because, why not?
Katy Perry
Opting for understated elegance...
Ariana Grande in Vera Wang
Her dress was Sistine Chapel-inspired. Dreamy.
Cardi B in Moschino
Oh so regal.
Anne Hathaway in Valentino
Very Little Red Riding Hood.
Gabrielle Union in Prabal Gurung
They call it, Vatican yellow.
