When we first met Diane Johnson (Marsai Martin) on award-winning U.S. sitcom Black-ish, we knew she would grow up to be quite a formidable character.
Not only that, but as we warmed up to Diane's cold, tough exterior that can only ever be thawed by the satisfaction she gets from being right, I think we started to become quite curious about the girl who plays Diane. And if we're talking style, she really is Rainbow's (Tracee Ellis Ross) daughter.
Marsai Martin is now a household name and a star to watch out for, as she became Hollywood's youngest Executive Producer in 2019 for the Little movie starring Issa Rae and Regina Hall. And she might just be Hollywood's best-dressed teen.
This Hollywood teen's press and red carpet appearances from 2018 throughout 2019, have been age-appropriate style moments that have earned her the same praise as her on-screen mom Tracee Ellis Ross and on-screen sister Yara Shahidi (who plays Zoey Johnson).
The celebrity stylist behind Marsai's style evolution is Apuje Kalu, who has styled Insecure cast members Yvonne Orji and Jay Ellis. Thanks to Apuje, this young star's designer resume boasts the likes of Coach, Red Valentino, Pantora Bridal and Miri Couture. She's also been styled by Jason Rembert - who's also styled Issa Rae, Michael B. Jordan, Lizzo and Mariah Carey - for a few red carpet occasions this year, and the excellence is unmatched.
Also, can her MUA Shannon Pezzetta get her well-deserved mention too? Marsai's beauty looks remain flawless, radiant, and fun... appearance after appearance.

Since 15-year-old Marsai has been scooping awards during this awards season, she's showed up in gowns and ensembles worthy of the same applause she receives for her accolades. This is why we've decided to add to our 'Marsai Martin (style) Maven in the Making' gallery.
