Is Melania Trump taking fashion inspiration from Beyoncé? | Drum

Whether it’s her fashion sense, music or killer dance moves, there’s no doubt she’s a trendsetter.

So it comes as no surprise everyone thinks America’s first lady, Melania Trump, took inspiration for her latest look from a Beyoncé music video. The 48-year-old was trending on Twitter after a hat she wore while entertaining the French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, got compared to a hat Bey wore in her Formation music video.

According to BET, Melania rocked a white belted blazer and suit skirt designed by Michael Kors and she topped off the look with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and a wide-brimmed hat by Hervé Pierre.

Twitter immediately recognised the hat and it soon went viral.

Is it just me? Or was the @FLOTUS wearing a white version of the hat @Beyonce was wearing in "Formation"? Symbolism or coincidence?

While some tweeps thought it was absurd that people would think that Beyoncé invented the hat.
