Céline Dion's appreciation of fashion is very evident in how well and effortlessly she wears each jaw-dropping look. From stellar street style to offbeat high fashion gowns, each fashion moment is testament to what the star meant when she said she prefers to "play with the way she dresses and borrow a character".

The award-winning diva loved by everyone and their mothers (literally) may not consider herself a fashion icon, but there's no denying that Céline Dion - whose wardrobe has experienced celebrity stylist Law Roach's Midas touch on several occasions - is more than deserving of a seat at the style throne where the likes of Naomi Campbell, Rihanna and Tracee Ellis Ross reign supreme.

During Paris Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Fashion Week last July, the Canadian mega superstar made the streets of Paris her runway, modelling garments from Chanel to Iris van Herpen to Schiaparelli. And this month Céline's gone full maximalist as she's been owning the walkways of New York - where's she's currently on her Courage world tour - in a more elevated manner that not even Carrie Bradshaw could pull off.

With power struts and theatrical poses, it's evident that Céline Dion's sartorial confidence is also complemented by the fact that she simply has fun with fashion, especially when she's taken looks straight off the runway.

So here, we take a look at the five ensembles she's added to her style resume:

Moncler Richard Quinn

This '60s-inspired floral appliqué Moncler Richard Quinn getup, styled with an accompanying nape-of-the-neck ponytail to give the illusion of a bob, is a complete look that requires nothing more and nothing less.

Brandon Maxwell

The maximalist Brandon Maxwell duster coat is the only headturner here, otherwise the rest of the look is no different to what you'd find on a Sandton IG Explore scroll.

Michael Kors

This houndstooth cape dress is straight off the Michael Kors Fall 2020 runway and Celine made a good call by complementing it with tortoiseshell sunglasses. I would have removed the fascinator-esque hat from the look, though.

Oscar de la Renta

Finishing off her NYC visit with another off-the-runway 'fit, also from a Fall 2020 collection. An A-plus for interpretation and the whimsical farewell flair with which she wore this look as she waved a bouquet of flowers at her gushing fans.
