It was a surprising colour combination for one of Meghan's first appearances of the year. The Duchess of Sussex's purple and red combo broke her usual tendency for neutral colours and matching shades.
She isn't often seen wearing prints, that's why this Oscar de la Renta dress she wore when she visited the Bristol Old Vic theatre in Bristol, England, made for a welcomed change.
If there's one thing the duchess knows to do well, it's neutrals. She wore a Brandon Maxwell dress on a visit to the UK's National Treasure, where she was a patron.

This year we also saw Meghan launch a clothing line for Smart Works, a charity that provides training and interview clothing for women in the UK. Meghan launched her collection wearing a crisp white shirt from the collection, black slacks by Jigsaw, a brown belt and matching shoes.

On her visit to Cape Town as part of the royal tour, Meghan wore a black and white printed eco-friendly wrap dress. The dress by Mayamiko was ethically and sustainably made in Malawi. Ethical fashion is close to The Duchess' heart.
Wearing different shades of the same colour can be tricky but Meghan pulled it off in this monochromatic autumn outfit that she wore to a roundtable discussion on gender equality the Windsor Castle.
She sparkled in a Roland Mouret sequin gown when she attend the Cirque du Soleil's premiere of Totem Theatre Production.
Yet another black and white classic look in a custom Givenchy button-up top and high-waisted wraparound pencil skirt.
At the London premiere of The Lion King, Meghan showed up in a black ensemble with gold detail.
