The Duchess and Duke of Sussex hit our shores two days ago, making quite a layered contribution to our Heritage Day celebrations. The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry arrived to warmth both in terms of weather and embraces in the city many have dubbed 'The Colony', the oh-so-picturesque Cape Town.
The first post on the royal couple's joint Instagram account details the significance of this 10-day trip, noting that the official Royal Tour of Southern Africa would focus on community, grassroots leadership, women’s and girls’ rights, mental health, HIV and Aids, and the environment.
The tour has since been covered extensively by local and international publications alike - from the Cape Malay cuisine the Duchess and Duke enjoyed in District Six to when he met Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
And of course, we've all been watching the Smart Works founder's looks closely because we all know this royal style muse is the reason pinstripe midi dresses are still selling out faster than baby Archie earned himself an isiXhosa name on his first visit to SA.

While Duchess Meghan's looks have not been spectacular per se, they have been a pleasant sight to marvel at. This is not only because she carries even a denim jacket with so much grace, but because they're a portrayal of her sartorial consistency that has made her a notable persona of interest in the fashion industry.

Opening statement
Upon her arrival to South Africa, Duchess Meghan Markle's first look was a statement animal print dress by award-winning sustainable fashion brand from Malawi, Mayamiko, that she paired with black lace-up espadrilles by Castañer.
Back to Black
This sleek black Everlane jumpsuit with matching Manolo Blahnik court heels will be the easiest one to emulate whether you're going to work or for dinner. This is a look that InStyle notes she accessorised with a pair of gold Gas Bijoux earrings she first wore in Morocco.
... and then back to basics
A very simple getup featuring the classics - a crisp white shirt and blue denim jacket. A look that communicates timelessness and congeniality.
Maximum respect
As a show of respect to the mosque, Auwal Mosque in Bo-Kaap, which the Duchess visited earlier this week, she wore a khaki maxi dress and an off-white headscarf, complete with nude flats.
Baby blue hues
To mark 5-month-old Baby Archie's first-ever royal engagement (meeting Archbishop Desmond Tutu), his mom wore a printed blue dress by Club Monaco and navy court heels.
So nice, she had to do it twice
HRH repeated this blue Veronica Beard dress that she wore to Nuku'alofa, Tonga in October last year... much to the designer's approval.
Another repeat for the heat
The Duchess keeps proving that clothes are made to be repeated even when you're a royal. This time, she rewore that striped maxi dress by Australian designer Martin Grant, that she wore on her royal tour of Australia and New Zealand.
