So what will be the biggest street style trends spotted at this year's SAFW?
Based on a few of our favourite Instagram posts from local fashion girls, we think these may be the essentials items guaranteed to create winning street style ensembles.
Crisp white
Whether it's a shirt, dress, shirt-dress, blazer or pants, you just can't go wrong with the perfect styling. It's simple and softly communicates "look at me".
Shop:
Leigh Schubert white dress, R1095 at Spree.
Flared pants
And they're even better when they have pockets. The great thing about these is their versatility, so don't be afraid to pair them with a top that's just as dramatic.
Shop:
Wide leg trousers, R799 at H&M.
Free-flowing fabric
Always a must for warm weather. Not only is it breathable, but you just exude an ethereal mood in well-cut and draped chiffon/satin/tulle/silk.
Shop:
Ruffle plunge playsuit, TOPSHOP.
We also adore the entire new whimsical collection by W35T.

Take the plunge
Nothing better than a revealing neckline to take your look from "meh" to "runway ready!"
Shop:
Crossed bodysuit, Zara.
Offbeat shoes
Is it even Fashion Week if you're not wearing a pair of ugly-chic shoes?
Shop:
Animal print slip-ons, R119 at MRP.
Something red
Highly recommended if you're attending evening shows.
Shop:
Red stitched blazer, R3800 at Witchery.
