African Fashion International (AFI), has begun a co-ordinated approach, with 21 designers, to manufacture and design face masks specifically recommended by the Department of Trade and Industry for the South African public.
This program will enable business continuity and operations for South African designers, and help them pay their staff. Some of the local designers who have rallied for this initiative and designed masks, include Imprint, Amanda May, Dax Martin, Bulbulia, Loin Cloth & Ashes, Shweshwekini, and Gavin Rajah.
Some of these designers are also selling face masks outside of this initiative, but still towards achieving the same goal.
