Day 1 at Cape Town Fashion Week left us with a big smiles. It was different than seasons past.
The message was clear: Africa is now. Collections showed classics paired with modern African designs, prints and fabrics.
Leigh Schubert
Favourite thing about her show: this first print on the trousers, and the vibrant colours.
Maxhosa by Laduma
Favourite part about his show: Always known for his exquisite knitwear, he has refined it in some way. Making the silhouettes more playful and feminine.
Africa is now
Favourite part about this show: The designer of Imprint ZA and fashion guru Chrisna de Bruyn gave us life with this show. This is what modern African design should be. And even though all their designs were modelled by men, I would SO wear all of it.
Leandi Mulder
Favourite part about her show: The craftsmanship of her work. The details are so beautiful.
Fashion Revolution
Favourite show! Everything, just everything!
KAHINDO
Favourite part about the show: Soft pastels and suits! This autumn is definitely time to suit up.
Quiteria & George
Favourite part about the show: The opulence. Very Giambattista Valli vibes. Sure to see one of these on Bonang, and soon.
Matte Nolim
Favourite part: That mustard and black outfit.
Nicholas Coutts
Favourite part: EVERYTHING! Just everything.
