More than a year after his passing in November 2017, Azzedine Alaïa has been honoured with a plaque at 18 Rue de la Verrerie in Paris. The City of Paris (Mairie de Paris) paid homage to Azzedine with this plaque unveiled to coincide with the Azzedine Alaïa collector showing.
Last year, leading up to the first anniversary of his death, a series of exhibition of his designs were shown in the following fashion capitals; South Korea, London, Milan, Paris and his birth country, Tunisia.
The Tunis-born designer has left a strong legacy as a renowned couturier, who has dressed many celebrities, including his muse Naomi Campbell and the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian.

The Azzedine Alaia name is still very much respected as the holy grail of couture and exceptional design. The Maison Alaïa, founded by Azzedine in 1981, boasts the most elegant ready-to-wear items that we are currently drawing our summer dress inspiration from.
