Heading to clothing stores is starting to be a dreaded task for many of us hence the growth in online shopping. Here we unpack what we struggle with in clothing stores:

Forceful sales assistants

Walking into a clothing store should be somewhat therapeutic and the last thing you want is someone hovering over you. Firstly, it puts unnecessary pressure on the shopper and becomes hard to decide what you want.

Secondly, it’s uncomfortable to have someone around you as you maneuver your way in the store.

Size issues

How often do you find that you're actually the same size in different shops? Probably never. That’s because clothing manufacturers don’t all use the same sewing pattern size. If you’re struggling with body image issues it might put you off into thinking you’ve gained weight, where in reality you haven’t.

Limited seating area

Believe it or not, shopping can be exhausting and sometimes all you need is to take a breather for a few minutes without having to leave the store. The worst is when you’re trying to fit the perfect pair of shoes and you need to sit down to try them on, yet no seats! When you’re lucky enough to find a place to sit, it’s always preoccupied as they usually just have very few seats.

Limit of items in dressing rooms

This can be rather frustrating when you’ve picked items, but are unsure how it will fit so you opt to try them on in different sizes. The idea behind this is to minimise the line but surely the line could move much faster if shoppers could fit everything at once without having to go back and forth for more items.

Hidden sale rack

Except if you run into an off season sale, some stores have ad hoc sales of old stock and it’s always at the back of the shop. If you’re a newbie shopper at a particular shop you might want to take a full tour before committing to buy anything. Who knows you might find the sale section and end up saving a few bucks.
