The multitalented star is familiar with our small screens, having been on shows and soapies such as YoTV, Selimathunzi and Generations: The Legacy. She is now merging her passions and talent as the host of Style Squad, a show that will search for the next fashion designer with Ackermans.
How did the partnership with Ackermans come about?
Before I was aware that this would be in partnership with Ackermans, I went to the auditions to be the host of a new fashion reality show called Style Squad. The rest, as they say, is history.
Why did you agree to be part of the show?
I am a major advocate for the upliftment and growth of young talent, be it through educational value or creative explorations. Ackermans Style Squad happens to be the perfect integration of the two, nurturing the talent and craft of the world’s future leaders in fashion. I’ve had the pleasure of presenting a variety of shows and speaking to different audiences; this was a beautiful addition to the list.

How would you describe your style?
I don’t necessarily have a distinct way of describing what my style looks like. However, I am making deliberate decisions regarding my sense of style while simultaneously exploring a variety of options. I can confidently go from street to chic or luxe to athleisure. After playing it safe for too long, I’m now ready to take more calculated risks.

Who is your style icon, and why?
Though I don’t place my lens of inspiration on one person, I appreciate the choices that Shayla Janel, founder of Random&Chic, makes for her body. She has a seamless way of marrying casual and formal worlds while playing around with vintage and modern trends.
What’s your favourite go-to look?
Contrary to what my social media feeds may suggest, I prioritise comfort over style. I enjoy the baggy vs fitted contrast. For example, I would wear mom jeans and a fitted white T-shirt with a pair of sneakers or tight jeans with a crop top and oversized shield with mules or heels. I also never shy away from accentuating my assets and curves.
