As much as the fashion industry still has a long way to go in terms of diversity, more and more "plus-size" models are challenging its expectations and stereotypes.

This new generation of models is broadening the industry’s definition of beauty, and is forcing it to become more accepting of various types of bodies.

Curvy models such as Georgina Burke and Danika Brysha are living examples of what body acceptance is and are inspiring many women to embrace their bodies and be comfortable in their own skin.

Here are 5 models that are shaping the fashion industry right now:

1. Georgina Burke

Georgina recently landed her first contract with a big clothing brand and is the official face of Torrid.

3. Michelle Olson

She has been modelling since she was 17 and notes on her Facebook page that: "'plus size' does not equal 'unhealthy' like our society has brainwashed us to think! Healthy can come in MANY sizes, and it's different for all of us. I feel so lucky that all labels aside, I can stay at my healthy, natural size and still get to do this awesome job which allows me to travel the world and live in New York City!"
