Giambattista Valli has been praised as a designer who "makes things for the world his women live in". This is something that's clear from the Hollywood glamour heavyweights who've wowed on red carpets in his creations over the years - from Rihanna to Lupita Nyong'o to Kendall Jenner.

So anyone who's been gushing over Valli red carpet offerings in all their frilly splendour will be beyond elated to know that the Italian designer is the latest designer to collaborate with H&M for a limited collection, adding to the fashion retailer's arsenal of luxury collections which includes Moschino, Erdem, Kenzo and Balmain.
The news of this collaboration was announced earlier this year at the amfAR Gala in Cannes, where the "master of beauty and sophistication" was in attendance with his muses who debuted pre-drop looks from this collection.

In an exclusive with H&M, Giamba - as he's affectionately known by friends - introduced his work to the H&M public by saying, "My creations are easy to wear and easy to interpret. More than dresses, I see them as a means to create a dialogue with my clients. I design for a living body, not for a lifeless mannequin”.
The Italian designer described this unthemed collection as "a summary of my style made up of pieces anyone can interpret as they wish. There’s no real narrative, but there is a sense of fluidity between menswear and womenswear".
The campaign images for the H&M x Giambattista Valli collection were styled by Melanie Ward and shot by the iconic duo Mert and Marcus. The stars fronting this luxurious campaign include Kendall Jenner, Luka Isaac, Clara 3000, Cameron Monaghan and H.E.R, who were shot in a variety of decadent settings in Giambattista Valli’s hometown of Rome.
The look book was also shot in Rome, but this time, with Kyle Weeks behind the lens to capture Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert's visual storytelling through the collection items.
So when the collection officially drops in store on 7 November 2019, these are some of the items we'll be taking home with us and wearing to the polo, brunch and Christmas lunch:
