Pantone has announced that their official colour for 2019 is "Living Coral" (16-1546). The Pantone institution's 2019 choice of colour is based on this pink hue's representation of the "fusion of modern life [...] a nurturing color that appears in our natural surroundings and at the same time, displays a lively presence within social media".
This is quite a complementary shade to 2018's Ultra Violet, as pink and purple have always been what our Mean Girls dreams are made of after all.
But this is not exactly the "on Wednesdays, we wear pink" kind of shade we thought it would be. It lies more on the golden end of the pink spectrum. "Living Coral" has been described as more of an "animated, life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone”.
A bit like sand dunes at sunset.

Among the joyful pursuits that Living Coral symbolizes, travel tops the list – often creating experiences that enable human interaction and social connection. Open to guests at Art Basel Miami at the @theroyalpalmmiami from 10am - 5pm ET tomorrow, the Pantone Pantry by @TributePortfolio will be traveling to other locations next year. ??: @tropicophoto
