The designer's own company - Victoria Beckham Ltd - hasn't made a profit since forming in 2008, and the brand reveals losses grew 20% by December 2018 as the demand for high-end clothing "plateaued".

"The performance was in line with expectations, so we were not surprised. Our goal is to reach profitability as soon as possible," the brand's chairperson, Ralph Toledano, tells the Business of Fashion.

"We have a great talent in Victoria, and if you take that asset with a dream team, we can do it," he adds.

Ralph also explains that sales had stagnated in 2018 after years of growth.

In September 2019, Victoria Beckham launched a "clean beauty" makeup line called Victoria Beckham Beauty. In the same year the brand launched two ranges of athleisure and fitness wear in collaboration with Reebok.
