And so our love story with the Spanish retail giant Zara has a happy ending - from when Zara entered SA malls in 2011, we've all felt like we're somewhat on par with our international counterparts in terms of street style trends.

However, shopping the store's bestsellers hasn't always been a convenient task, and walking into one of their brick-and-mortar only to find that an item you saw online hasn't hit local rails yet (or won't at all) can be disappointing when you've already planned your own version of a Shiona Turini holiday look.

But now we're counting down to 18 September, the day when all our woes will officially be over, as Zara is launching its online sales in South Africa through its dedicated website, zara.com/za. This marks an important milestone in the expansion of Zara’s integrated store and online platform into markets where it already has a store presence.

Shoppers will be able to choose between picking up their orders at a store of their choice, at accessible drop-off points across South Africa, or delivery at home. Deliveries and returns to stores and drop-off points are free of charge.

Zara.com/za offers the brand’s merchandise for women, men and kids. What's even more exciting is that we'll also be getting some exclusive items specifically for the local market. When browsing online, customers are also able to check the availability of the item at any store in South Africa, as well as see recommended products.

And if you're a sucker for convenience (aren't we all), you'll be glad to know that thanks to the integrated store and online platform, customers in South Africa can choose between collecting their orders at the store of their choice, at accessible drop-off points, or delivery at home. Pretty dope, right?

Here's exactly how delivery will work:

Delivery

Collecting items at a branch within three to six working days will be free, while collection at drop-off points or at home will only be free for orders over R999, taking three to six working days to arrive. Customers will have the option of returning purchased items at stores or drop-off points within a 30-day period as per the current standard procedure, as well as exchanging items at the stores during the same period.

Zara.com/za is designed to operate on any mobile device, using any browser, as well as via its app, available in both iOS and Android versions. Payments can be made using all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Customers using zara.com/za can call customer services toll-free to chat, or write to a dedicated e-mail address with any order-related queries.
