This woman got a third breast implant

*According to TMZ the woman lied about her implants. Apparently her fake breast is a prosthetic.

I believe that people should have autonomy over their bodies. This would include undergoing surgery and modifications that the general population won’t necessarily approve of. But, I also believe that this should not be done lightly or without rather intensive psychological evaluation.

You shouldn’t just be able to chop off a limb or implant an extra boob on a whim. Unfortunately, in this brave new world, you can.

According to dangerousminds.net, a young woman spent more than $20 000 (R225000) to surgically acquire a third breast. To be fair, she had to go to over 50 surgeons before she could find one who was willing to do the operation. This is marginally cheering, but not a great victory if you keep in mind that plastic surgeons do breast implants, rhinoplasty (nose jobs), and collagen injections on girls as young as 15. Seriously, do plastic surgeons not take the Hippocratic Oath? Or at least believe in the gist of it?

Anyway, this massage therapist, who’s probably going to be in debt for the rest of her life, claims that she did it because she didn’t want men to find her attractive anymore.

Cynics are calling bullshit on her reason, as most of the images and footage available shows her dancing in a very small bikini, shaking her three boobs for the camera, taking simpering selfies in chiffon and glitter and trying very hard to look sexy.

I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt. She never said she didn’t want to be attractive, she just said she didn’t want to be attractive to men. Maybe she wants to be attractive to aliens? I mean she was most definitely inspired by sci-fi movie Total Recall.

But seriously, different strokes for different folks. If this has really made her happy, then good for her. She just doesn’t look very happy to me.

Anyway, you decide.
