This women's month we have been celebrating the women who are making their mark in their own industries and making a difference.
Amanda Mbongwa is one of those women for us today. She is a young and adventurous woman, who grew up in the rural village of Loskop, which is set on the foot of the majestic Drakensberg Mountain, in the Kwa Zulu Natal midlands.
Amanda did sporting activities such as running, body building and mountain climbing when she was young.
Her love for the outdoors and fitness led her to founding Loskop Gijimas, a local running club which seeks to encourage young people to lead a holistic healthy and active lifestyle, focusing on not only the body, but also the mind and soul.
Months later, she had six girls signed on to the program, and today, the project is home to nearly 50 young men and women.
Amanda is also the brains behind Fit Fanatic, an active lifestyle brand which seeks to make fitness and healthy living accessible, fun and exciting through offering outdoor adventure packages for groups and individuals, including hiking, running, and boot camp.
She also has a Fit Fanatic active wear and gym wear apparel range.
Amanda hopes to see her brands grow and be globally known in order to teach women of all backgrounds to live healthy lives.
