You're not alone.

Most everyone is feeling sluggish, slightly uninspired and a little overwhelmed as the whatsapp groups and demands for rsvps start blowing up your phone and the deadlines seem even more urgent.

I hope you're not running on fumes.

I'm taking big steps to make sure that I look after my mental and physical health as the year ends. This is my plan.

1. SAY NO MORE OFTEN

You have no idea what my schedule or obligations are or what I may be going through. I am allowed to say no to you. To do something of my choosing.

2. SPEND LESS TIME ON SOCIAL MEDIA

I don't suffer from FOMO but the outrage posts start to weigh heavy on the soul.

3. TREAT MYSELF AND OTHERS

I'm talking candles, plants, soft towels, artwork, vinyls of my favourite artists and tracks and anything that makes me happy. It's an investment on my relationship with myself and with others.

4. NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE IN THE MORNING WITHOUT EATING SOMETHING

And pack snacks. Hangry looks attractive on no one. Fresh, nourishing food is like a group hug.

5. CHOOSE QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

My wardrobe is going through a very important and happy transition. It's mostly made up of items I spent a little more thought and probably a little more money on too.

Does it fit well? Are the seams sewn with care and will the fabric withstand washing and numerous wears?

Am I buying this shoe to walk into a space and then sit down immediately or do I want to feel comfortable enough to run in these heels? Why not buy a sneaker or brogue?

I must admit that my boyfriend has had a big impact on my shopping considerations. Do men shop more practically than we do?

Check out what I've been pinning and saving up for.
