I went for an interview for a dream job shortly after finishing college. I have always been one to say what I mean, but was told not to get too vocal in the interview.
I was walking in the underground parking to the lift, when I almost got knocked down by a sleek silver SLK Mercedes. I get extremely annoyed by inconsiderate drivers.
I think the interview was going well until I was asked what my long and short term goals were.
I replied that my long-term goal was to keep educating myself and to grow and evolve as an individual.
My short-term goal was to go find the SLK that almost knocked me over and smash his windscreen.
The interviewer’s face went from normal to horrified to a few shades of green before cutting the interview short and telling me that I was not suited for the position.
I had a "WTF?" expression, but moments after the junior that was in the interview ran after me to the lift, advising me that the SLK belonged to the interviewer. - Cindy
I am in the final phase of an internship program. So, when I went for my first interview, I was quite oblivious as to what position I was actually being interviewed for.
When I entered the room and everyone introduced themselves, I couldn’t remember half their names. My current supervisor was a part of the panel and I remember him asking me a question.
All I heard was, “Blah, blah, so miss please tell us how you would go about doing that task?” I was mortified as you can imagine, immediate instinct took over and I just started talking complete and utter nonsense.

I'm currently finishing my financial management degree and I have been going to quite a few interviews lately. The question I'm always asked is: "What work experience do you have?"
My part-time job is very awkward to explain... especially to men.
In one recent interview in particular I was with a group of men in a boardroom and they popped the question.
My response was: "80% of women in South Africa wear the incorrect bra size and I'm the one they come to so they can check what size they are."
All the guys just went quiet with slight smirks on their faces. Their silence lasted 30 seconds, which felt like 30 minutes to me.
