Flexi hours
Whether you need a few afternoons to do some Christmas shopping, you'd like to spend more time with your kids, or you have family demands that need you to be home during the day, many working mothers are interested in finding out about the possibility of flexible working hours.
Operations Director at HR Outsource streams Ashton Bossr explains that an employee's relationship with her immediate senior determines her hours and flexibility. However he says that in many cases flexi hours may not pose a problem – provided the employee works the agreed total number of hours. He adds that flexi hours allow employees to work their normal allocated weekly hours and also to attend to pressing issues during the course of the day without the employer losing hours, or the employee to have lost time deducted from her monthly salary. This is a more flexible way of achieving a balance between work and personal life, and can be negotiated with your employer.
Getting Ahead
According to Kelly Group Marketing Director Tracey Czakan, one way to get ahead in the workplace is to present yourself with confidence. Being self-confident means having a positive yet realistic view of yourself and your situation.
Self-confident people trust their own abilities, have a general sense of control in their lives and believe that, within reason, they will be able to do what they wish, plan and expect. Czakan gives a few tips to help you develop your self-confidence in the workplace :
