According to GenderGap.AFRICA, on average a man earns 67% more than a woman in South Africa. Stats SA has also reported that women are more vulnerable to unemployment than men, across all races.
The two-day Jobs Summit held in Johannesburg on Thursday and Friday is tasked with finding solutions for job creation.
According to Fin24 reports, the summit is expected to agree on a method that will see businesses employing more than 50 people reporting on pay ratios in their annual financial statements. Currently, this is how women are affected by unemployment:
