Make a budget
First, and this is very important, you need to come up with a strategy to take control of your spending!
Make a spreadsheet, draw up a budget or just sit down and take a good look at your spending habits. Find out where you’re going wrong and what you’re splurging on that you don’t need.
Get rid of what you don’t need.
De-clutter your life and get back to basics. Maybe sell some of your things on Gumtree or have a good old-fashioned garage sale! You are probably living beyond your means and by freeing yourself of some of the things that got you into this position won’t only be good for your bank-balance but good for you as well.
Learn to say no.
Everyone has that one friend that they just can’t say no to. That friend that turns ‘just one drink’ into a crazy bender neither of you can afford. We know it’s tough, and we’re not saying you should turn into the fun police, but saying no just a few times a year will do wonders for your bank balance, and your headache the next day!
