At 3.09pm on Thursday, the Cricket SA (CSA) communications machine stirred into action and announced a press conference to be held by two representatives of the Members’ Council just 51 minutes later.

During the delay to proceedings caused by what was described as technical glitches on acting CSA president Rihan Richards’ part, a statement from the CSA interim board appointed by Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa landed in the attending media’s inboxes.
