Kagiso Gabaocoe and his mother, Nomfundo Gabaocoe (52), went to Home Affairs’ New Hanover branch on May 4 and were turned away when officials insisted on interrogating the matric pupil in isiZulu, despite his mother explaining that he could not speak the language because he attended English medium schools all his life due to these being the only schools that catered for autistic children.
