The Gauteng department of basic education is investigating the violence that has left teachers and pupils jumping ship to other schools in fear of being bullied by violent pupils allegedly involved in gangs waging a war in William Hills and Liverpool high schools in Benoni, Ekurhuleni.

This comes after reports that teachers at the schools were resigning due to violent incidents at the schools, forcing parents to remove their children and find other schools in fear of the violence and criminal activities related to drugs and drug trading.
