The military contractor alleged to have bribed Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is also alleged to have made regular payments to the wife of a high-ranking military man who is now a state witness in the criminal case against the former Speaker of Parliament.

According to the original charge sheet, Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu – Mapisa-Nqakula’s alleged corruptor and beneficiary of defence contracts – transferred hundreds of thousands of rands into the account of Nolusapho Mgwebi each time she got paid by the SA National Defence Force. Mgwebi is the wife of Lieutenant General Derrick Mgwebi, who was the head of joint operations in the military.
