Controversial businessperson Hamilton Ndlovu has lost his luxurious Bryanston house in an auction.
The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) reported that the house with three en suite bathrooms, cinema, private salon, swimming pool and three garages went under the hammer on July 4.
This was after the SIU and National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) accepted a R7.1 million offer for the house. The unit believes that the house was bought with proceeds from illegal activities.
It is alleged that Ndlovu irregularly obtained PPE tenders worth R172 million from the NHLS using different companies. It is said the money went into a bank account owned by Ndlovu.

In March 2022, the SIU and NHLS were granted an order to freeze Ndlovu’s property as well as his bank accounts.
The businessperson tried to have his assets released in August last year, but his attempt was dismissed by the Special Tribunal.
The application was dismissed with costs by the North Gauteng High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, said the SIU.
The report by the SIU stated that in April 2020 Feliham, a company belonging to Ndlovu’s fiancé, was blacklisted from doing business with the state. However, the decision was reportedly overlooked by NHLS officials.
According to the SIU, the money made at the house sale will go towards recovering the loss the state and NHLS suffered.
