Johannesburg’s ANC-led coalition may have passed its medium-term budget at the eleventh hour and averted being placed under administration, but allegations of cutting corners in the lead up to its tabling this week may have left the budget open to a court challenge.

EFF councillors who spoke to City Press this week said they were consulting the party’s national leadership on whether they should approach the courts and spoil the short-lived dalliance between the ANC-led coalition and the DA, which helped force through the budget that had failed to pass twice before.
