The last state of the nation address of President Cyril Ramaphosa's current term was a rather dull affair by SA standards, considering there wasn't a single disruption, and the only sounds from the benches were the occasional half-hearted jeer from the opposition and plenty of enthusiastic support from ANC MPs.

The lack of the EFF's disruptive antics wasn't the only contributing factor to the lacklustre affair though. The president's speech itself appeared to leave many in the audience completely uninterested, judging by scenes of some of the president's own party nodding off while opposition members got lost in their cellphone screens.
