A Ballito-based film maker has introduced rural communities in northern KwaZulu-Natal to the immersive world of virtual reality through his documentary, Umfula – Echoes of the River.

Director Telmo dos Reis grew up in Vryheid and has been working on the documentary for three years. The film created more than 60 jobs for individuals living along the Umfolozi River.
