If the late nights and the loathsome hangovers ever become too much, then it's a good thing spring has come around because the days will be warmer. We have a list of spring ideas that will bring out harmony in your friend group.

We've finally reached the point of the year where we should have warmer days, and the countdown to the December rush is finally upon us.

You might want to get out a little more, but aren’t in the mood to hit the same old restaurants, bars and clubs you’ve been avoiding during the winter months.

We’ve got you covered with some more interesting and stimulating springtime adventures.

Hit up a festival where you can camp

Between the drinking, friends, curated content and good music, there’s nothing quite like festival culture. This one gives you the best of both worlds because you have the great outdoors at your doorstep, and you can also party like you’re still 21.

A festival with the opportunity to camp gives a completely different experience where you can meet new people, and even discover new things about yourself and how you function outside the hustle and bustle of city life.

But be careful, it’s easy to have too much fun at these kinds of festivals.

Here are a few festivals you can check out this spring:

Rocking the Daises (Cape Town) 7 - 9 October 2022

Hermanus Whale Festival 30 September - 2 October 2022

Eden Festival of Action 2 – 9 October 2022

Splashy Fen Festival April 2023

AfrikaburnFestival 24 - 30 April 2023

Memories are priceless

This may sound like a long shot, but with the flowers blooming and being able to get out more, a cellphone and a little more intention are all you need to take up a photography hobby.

Memories are priceless, and they are often too quickly forgotten. Taking up something like photography can spark up some of the creative juices you never thought you had and can even turn into a cool scrapbook gift idea in the future.

Here are a few tips to help you get started.

Drive-thru game night

This cool idea completely redefines game night by throwing in a good and solid mix of fun and intrigue. All you need is a car, a number and a few hundred rands and you’re good to get going.

The idea is that each participant writes down their list of fast-food restaurants they would like to eat at for their starters, main meal and dessert, after being assigned a number in chronological order, a number shuffling app will pick out a number at random, which will then decide whose restaurant will be chosen for that course.

Rainbow picnic

TikTok trends aside, this idea has become a favourite for people of all ages.

All the kids on TikTok are doing it, and it has become a favourite among my group of friends.

A picnic meet-up is never a bad idea, with friends, light food and a sunny day. A rainbow picnic can unlock a new kind of harmony among your family and friends.

Every friend is assigned a colour of the rainbow, and then buys an array of items that fit their assigned colour.

Amusement madness

After going through a pandemic that isolated us from the world, when we were first allowed to leave the house, many of us turned back to clubs and bars for our fun.

We hope you haven’t forgotten about places like Gold Reef City.

If the long nights out or the regretful hangover ever get tiring, then there’s always an amusement park to try out for a more wholesome dose of adrenaline.

Sing it!

Real life can be consuming, but belting for your life with a cold brew in your hand always seemed like a good idea to me.

Karaoke nights are the only place you can mess up and be congratulated for it.
