Isibaya actress Zinhle Mabena has been released after spending the night at the Pretoria Central police station.
The star was expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday but her matter was not on the court roll.
National Prosecutions Authority (NPA) Pretoria spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said the star did not appear in court because her docket was sent back for further investigations.
“The docket was brought to court, the matter was not enrolled due to insufficient evidence and further investigations [are required],” Mahanjana said.

The star, who plays Sihle on the soapie, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder.
According to a source close to the star, Mabena was arrested at her home in Centurion on Tuesday.
“They [police] have been looking for her since Monday but could not get hold of her. They finally found her yesterday [Tuesday] at her place,” said the source.
City Press understands that Mabena was arrested in connection with the attempted murder of her husband entrepreneur Robert Ngwenya.
“The case was being investigated for a while. Phone records linked her to the case,” the source added.
Ngwenya was allegedly ambushed while travelling with his bodyguards. Although he was not harmed, one of his bodyguards was wounded in the shooting and died in hospital a day later.

Mabena’s lawyer in a statement said the allegations were mischievous and that she has been subject to intimidation by someone trying to “damage her reputation”.
Joshua Lazarus of Shapiro and Ledwaba Incorporated said: “We can confirm that nothing plausible was provided to the authorities to link our client to any crime, including but not limited to murder or attempted murder or any conspiracy of sought.”
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubele said Mabena was arrested “following an intensive investigation into the shooting incident that happened on January 28”.
“Police found evidence that linked the woman to the attempted murder and murder case,” Makhubele said.
